An appropriate inital post into the blogosphere.

About the AboveGround Blog: AboveGround represents an ideology. It started a long time ago as the name of my online radio show, which was poking fun at the debate in the house scene about so called "underground" vs. "mainstream" music. On the show I featured mixes from both types of DJs and mixed genres in my mixes to illustrate the point.

Over 6 years and 300+ episodes, the word solidified into something more meaningful in my head as I found myself having to defend this perspective. It came to represent taking different perspectives on purpose, if for no other reason to see things from a different angle (like Robin Williams in Dead Poet's Society). Like viewing the world from atop a mountain instead of our usual sea level.

Now it is the name of both my Creative company (www.abovegroundcreative.com) and my mobile technology company (www.abovegroundapps.com). Here on this blog I will post things from around the internet that offer perspectives slightly off from the everyday. Got a cool link to share? send it my way.
